The Astrology of 2025

The Astrology of 2025

When analyzing the astrological transits of any given year, you can go as granular as you want.

You can include transits that last for years, months, weeks, days, or even hours!

There’s so much information that it can be overwhelming.

But overwhelm is never good. Overwhelm can be paralyzing and prevent you from acting because you don’t know what’s essential and what isn’t.

So, where do you draw the line regarding astrological transits?

How can you choose what’s relevant and what’s secondary?

How can you use astrology as a guide without being delulu or engaging in toxic positivity, but also without believing in every worst-case scenario or doom and gloom p*rn?

As an astrologer, I juggle those questions frequently. Right now, I have found answers that work for me. These answers may change in the future, but they work for me at this moment in time.

In this text, I share my criteria for choosing the most relevant astrological transits for any given year. I also share the most noteworthy astrological transits of 2025.

This is the table of contents:

  1. Astrological Events You Should Pay Attention To
    1. Ingresses and Exits of the Transpersonal Planets
    2. Eclipses
    3. Planets’ Retrograde Phases
    4. Changes of Seasons

    6. Four Phases of the Moon
  2. The Astrology of 2025

    5. Mars Retrograde in 2025

  3. Using Astrology as Your Guide for 2025

Let’s go.

Astrological Events You Should Pay Attention To

No matter the year or the period you want to analyze under the lens of astrology, there are certain events you have to pay attention to.

In order of importance, these are those events:

  • Ingresses and exits of the transpersonal planets
  • Eclipses
  • Planets’ retrograde phases
  • Changes of seasons
  • Ingresses and exits of the social and personal planets
  • Four phases of the moon (New, Full, and each quarter)

I wrote that this is the order of importance of each event. However, sometimes the distinction is not set in stone.

For example, Mars and Venus retrograde are more relevant than the retrogradation of other planets. As a second example, Saturn changing zodiac signs is also more relevant than the Sun or Mercury doing it.

Let’s see the importance of each event in more detail.

Ingresses and Exits of the Transpersonal Planets

The transpersonal planets are Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus.

When they change signs, this is DEFINETELY the most noteworthy astrological event of the year.

These movements are relevant because these planets move very slowly. When they move to a different zodiac area, they indicate significant shifts in your personal life and the collective.

Pluto changes signs every 12 to 30 years. Neptune changes signs every 14 years. Uranus changes signs every 7 years.

A memorable year is ahead if they arrive at new signs in the same period.

Eclipses

Eclipses occur every year. In that sense, they are not unique or once-in-a-lifetime events.

However, they occur in different signs every 18 months.

Eclipses happen in the Lunar Nodes. A new zodiac area will be activated when the Lunar Nodes change signs.

If you want to read more about the characteristics of eclipses, check this other text: Eclipse Season and the First Saturn Return

Pay attention to those years when the Lunar Nodes change. New parts of your birth chart will lighten up.

Planets’ Retrograde Phases

This one is a mixed bag. Not every planet’s retrogradation is a big deal.

Venus and Mars’ retrograde periods are the ones you should be noting down.

Mars retrogrades every two years for 9 % of its cycle. Venus retrogrades every year and a half for 7 % of its cycle.

Here are two specific texts about these retrogradations:

For the rest of the planets, check the dates when they go retrograde and when they go direct. Those specific days could be eventful.

Changes of Seasons

Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn are the cardinal signs of the zodiac. A new season starts when the Sun arrives at zero degrees of any of them.

I’m a firm proponent of embodying astrology. So, the changes in seasons are essential in my approach to this discipline.

Every season offers different energetic qualities that you can engage with.

Here you have rituals for each of them:

Ingresses and Exits of the Social and Personal Planets

As I have established earlier, first, you must look at the transpersonal planets changing signs. This is relevant because Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus don’t change signs often.

Then, continue with the social planets.

Saturn and Jupiter are the social planets. Saturn changes signs every three years, and Jupiter changes signs once a year.

Finally, consider the personal planets. They are Mars, Venus, and Mercury. Although the Sun is not strictly a planet, it could also be included here.

Some astrologers also mention the Moon as a personal planet. Instead, I reserve a special place for this astral body.

Four Phases of the Moon

I know that the Moon has more than four phases. I consider only four in a forecast because they are the most striking ones.

The four main phases of the Moon are the New Moon, the First Quarter, the Full Moon, and the Last Quarter.

These four phases give the year a nice cadence. They are like the moon calendar weeks and offer guidance on caring for one’s body and emotions.

If a New or Full Moon is an eclipse, it’s even more critical. I have already covered this topic above. But you can read more about it here: The Truth About The New Moon

Now that I have mentioned the events I consider essential in any given year let’s examine the specifics of 2025.

The Astrology of 2025

In my opinion, these are the most noteworthy astrological movements of the year 2025:

  • Pluto in Aquarius
  • Neptune in Aries
  • Uranus in Gemini
  • Saturn in Aries
  • Mars retrograde
  • Lunar Nodes in Virgo and Pisces
  • Venus retrograde
  • Jupiter in Cancer

As you can see, many of the most significant changes I mentioned earlier will occur in the year 2025.

Let’s dissect them.

Pluto in Aquarius in 2025

Truth be told, Pluto arrived in Aquarius for a brief minute in 2023 and then in 2024. However, we’ll learn more about this astrological transit in 2025 because this planet will stay here for many years. It will retrograde, but it won’t be back in Capricorn.

Check more information about Pluto in Aquarius here: Pluto in Aquarius and Tips for Saturn in Aquarius

Pluto will leave Aquarius to arrive at Pisces in 2043.

The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was from 1777 until 1798. In true Aquarian fashion, this was a very revolutionary time.

The American Revolution, the French Revolution, the Haitian Revolution, and the Industrial Revolution occurred.

Besides, this was considered the Age of Enlightenment. Science has become more prevalent in society and is regarded as superior knowledge to intuitive or traditional practices. This distinction is still prevalent.

This time around, the main protagonist of this cycle would be all the debate around Artificial Intelligence.

Neptune in Aries in 2025

Neptune will ingress Aries on the 30th of March. It will leave this sign in 2039.

The last time Neptune was in Aries was from 1861 to 1875. The American Civil War took place back then, as well as the Franco-Prussian wars.

In terms of developments, the typewriter, the machine gun, and dynamite were invented

This time, I consider that we’ll experience more limitless manifestations of nature, such as extreme floods and wildfires.

I’m also really interested in the new music or works of art that will emerge. They will be brash and unapologetic.

Uranus in Gemini in 2025

Uranus will arrive at Gemini on July 7th. It will leave this sign in 2033.

Uranus was in Gemini from 1941 to 1948. World War II occurred then, and the Cold War was initiated.

Will we see the rise of controversial leaders concentrating lots of power? Probably. I’m also paying attention to the widespread criticism of social media. The golden age of long-form content on the internet is coming.

Saturn in Aries in 2025

Saturn will arrive in Aries on May 24th. The Saturn return of people born with Saturn in Aries starts on this date!

Saturn was last in Aries from April 7th, 1996 until June 9th, 1998. That day, it entered Taurus and stayed in this zodiac sign until October 25th, when it retrograded back to Aries. It finally left Aries on February 28th, 1999.

When Saturn was in Aries in the late nineties, Dolly the Sheep was cloned, Bill Clinton was re-elected, Princess Diana passed away, the domain google.com was registered, Steve Jobs was named interim CEO of Apple, Titanic won 11 Oscars, the Asian currency and financial crisis spread to Latin America, the first euro coins were minted, and Michael Jordan announced his second retirement from basketball, just to name a few events.

I absolutely love the fact that The Spice Girls released their debut album, called Spice, on November 4th, 1996. Spice and Aries are compatible energies. Astrology is SO real!

This year, we’ll only get a sample of Saturn in Aries. The ringed planet will retrograde back to Pisces from September 1st, 2025, to February 13th, 2026.

These 5 months of retrogradation are like the closing thoughts for the Saturn in Pisces cohort. The natives will experience the final chapter of their Saturn return.

People who have Saturn in Aries in their birth chart will have a trial period of their Saturn return from May 24th until September 1st.

Then, they will rest while the Saturn in Pisces people finish their Saturn return.

Starting from February 13th of 2026, people with Saturn in Aries will feel their Saturn return in full force.

Mars Retrograde in 2025

At the beginning of the year, Mars is already retrograde. It started its retrograde phase on December 6th, 2024.

Mars retrogradation started in Leo. On January 6th, it goes back to Cancer. The middle of the retrograde phase occurs on January 15th, when this fiery planet opposes the Sun in Capricorn. Finally, Mars turns direct at 17° of Cancer on February 23rd.

The last time Mars was retrograde took place from October 30th, 2022, to January 12th, 2023. The retrogradation occured in Gemini.

Lula da Silva won the presidential election in Brazil on October 30th, 2022. He’s the first president elected three times in this country. He’s also the oldest one, at 77.

FTX filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Ukrainian forces recaptured Kherson, the world population reached 8 billion, OpenAI released ChatGPT, Argentina won the FIFA World Cup 🇦🇷🏆, Croatia adopted the euro, and the funeral of Pope Benedict XVI was held in the Vatican City.

As metioned, here’s more info about this astrological transit: Mars Retrograde: Effects and Insights

The year will definitely start slowly. The pace would pick up at the end of February, but most likely in March.

Lunar Nodes in Virgo and Pisces in 2025

The Lunar Nodes will change signs from Aries and Libra to Virgo and Pisces on the 29th of January. Pisces will be the North Node and Virgo the South Node.

On March 29th, we will still have a partial solar eclipse at 08°53’ of Aries. This is normal. Some years, the Lunar Nodes change signs, but we could still experience an eclipse in one of the signs where they were before.

The last time Pisces was the North Node was in 2006-2007. However, we last had eclipses in Pisces with the North Node in Virgo in 2015-2017.

Since eclipses are a wildcard in my view of astrology, I won’t do any retrospective about them here.

Check the topics of your Virgo and Pisces houses in your birth chart. These topics will point to the issues that will be prominent during one year and a half.

You can read more about it here: Eclipse Season and the First Saturn Return

Venus Retrograde in 2025

Venus will start its retrograde phase at 10°50’ of Aries on March 1st. It will go back to Pisces on March 27th. Then, it will turn direct at 24°37’ of Pisces on April 12th.

The last time Venus retrograded was in the Leo sign from July 22nd to September 3rd, 2023. This was when the movie Barbie premiered, and people went extreme Barbiecore.

The 2023 Writers Guild of America strike was also in full effect during Venus retrograde. The strike started on May 2nd and ended on September 27th, 2023.

I would look at the Pinterest Predicts report to determine which fashion trends will be relevant in 2025.

Since the retrogradation starts in Aries and then goes back to Pisces, my money is in the following trends: Cherry Coded, Aura Beauty, Sea Witchery, and Fisherman Aesthetic.

Snow White, a film written by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson, will be released on March 21st. I don’t know if it will be the massive success that Barbie was. However, I find it lovely that one of the screenwriters of this film is Greta Gerwig, the director of Barbie.

Is Greta Gerwig the queen of Venus retrograde? I think so!

Jupiter in Cancer in 2025

Jupiter will nest in Cancer on June 9th. It will stay in this sign until June 30th, 2026, when it will visit Leo.

The last time Jupiter stayed in Cancer was from June 25th, 2013, until July 16th, 2014.

What happened back then, you may ask?

In Jupiter’s previous stay in Cancer, typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines, killing more than 5,000 people. It was one of the strongest storms ever recorded in history. Remember that Jupiter amplifies, and Cancer is a water sign.

On a happier note, the US Supreme Court cleared the way for legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide. Jupiter is associated with justice, and Cancer is related to domestic life.

On July 1st, Croatia became the 28th member of the European Union. I’m mentioning this because I noticed that Croatia adopted the euro when Mars was retrograde in 2022. Jupiter will be in Cancer again in 2025, and Mars will also be retrograde, so this could be a big year for this country.

Grand Theft Auto V was released on September 17th, 2013, and earned more than half a billion dollars on its first day for sale. Jupiter is associated with abundance.

On November 12th, the painting Three Studies of Lucian Freud was sold for US$142.4 million in a New York City auction, setting a world record for an auctioned work of art. Jupiter likes breaking records.

In 2014, the West African Ebola virus epidemic began to spread in February. In March, Russia formally annexed Crimea, causing an escalation of conflicts that can be traced to this day.

I read on the Pinterest Predict report that an event called Nesting Parties will replace the overconsumption-driven baby showers. I’m so here for it, and it looks pretty on-point for the Jupiter through Cancer transit.

Using Astrology as Your Guide for 2025

I use astrology as a forecast to organize my life.

If it will rain profusely, astrologically speaking, there’s no point in me trying to organize an outdoor party.

I have to use the energy for something else. I could stay cozy inside and read. If I need to go out, I know I must carry a raincoat and umbrella.

The outdoor party will have to wait. There’s no point in trying to force a specific outcome. Doing so will only cause more suffering.

Forcing specific outcomes is fruitless. It doesn’t indicate that I’m decisive. Instead, it shows me that I have deeply seated control issues.

I’m not always capable of going with the flow. However, when I do it, my life feels lighter and more effortless.

The astrological forecast tells me that sometimes what I want doesn’t align with what the cosmos offers. But that doesn’t mean that everything sucks. It just means that there are different lessons that I need to integrate.

If you want to learn how to use astrology as a compass for your life, I have something for you.

You’re invited to join me for a 2-hour workshop about The Astrology of 2025.

I will talk about the prevailing energies of 2025 and how you can connect with them. Bring your journal to write down some ideas, thoughts, and feelings.
